How to Give

Know that while your gifts will benefit UIC, the University of Illinois Foundation partners with UIC to process them.  Be sure to check if your or your spouse’s employer matches gifts.

Please contact us with specific questions or for guidance in choosing a way to give. Reach an advancement officer or Malathi Tamilarasu, UIC’s associate director for stewardship, at mtamil1@uic.edu or 312-413-4100.

Online
UIC’s online giving system saves you time, paperwork and postage and is secured with encryption. You can give a one-time or recurring gift using your credit card.

To change preferences for an existing recurring charge, such as payment amount, frequency or designated fund contact UIC’s gift processor, Malathi Tamilarasu, at mtamil1@uic.edu or 312-413-4100.

For security reasons we cannot accept credit card information via email or fax.

Check
Make your gift by check or money order payable to the University of Illinois Foundation. Include a note in the check’s memo specifying the gift’s designation.

Mail checks to:
University of Illinois Foundation
1305 West Green Street, MC-386
Urbana, IL 61801

For security reasons please do not mail cash.

Securities
Giving your stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other appreciated securities can provide immediate assistance to UIC while being part of a planned giving strategy. You can also receive tax benefits from this method of giving. These gifts require special planning and should involve consultation with your financial advisor.

To make a gift of publicly traded stocks or mutual funds via electronic transfer, please contact the Foundation Cash Receipts Department for delivery instructions at cashdesk@uif.uillinois.edu or (217) 244-0352.

The Foundation does not publish the delivery instructions in an effort to insure proper identification of the donor transferring the gift.  Please verify the name of the securities and appropriate number of shares to be received and the designation of the gift prior to the transfer.

For mailing physical certificates, please send the certificate and stock power separately (for security purposes) to:
University of Illinois Foundation
Attn: Todd Warnes, Cash Desk
1305 West Green Street, MC-386
Urbana, IL 61801

Matching Gifts
Many employers will match their employees’ charitable donations. This will sometimes hold true even if you’re retired from the company or if you’re the spouse or widow of an employee. Visit the Foundation’s participating companies database to determine if your company offers this option. Make sure you also check your company’s giving policy to see if you’re eligible.

Many matching gift companies require that participants provide the Federal Tax ID number of the recipient organization when applying for a match. The Tax ID for the University of Illinois Foundation is 37-6006007. The University of Illinois Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization exempt from federal income tax.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
EFT is a secure way to deliver your gifts directly and automatically from your bank to the University of Illinois Foundation. As with online giving, EFT donations allow us to minimize administrative expenses.

When you make an EFT gift, your bank disburses the funds automatically according to your instructions, and until you decide to stop. You may extend your contribution into installments over the entire year.

To make your gifts via EFT, simply download, complete and return the EFT Authorization Form (it should download automatically after clicking link) to the University of Illinois Foundation.

Either fax the authorization form to 217-333-5577 or mail it to:
University of Illinois Foundation
1305 West Green Street, MC-386
Urbana, IL 61801

Payroll Deduction
University of Illinois employees can instruct the University to withhold a minimum contribution of $5 per month for a period of time (no less than three installments) or until you opt to discontinue the withholding.

To make your gifts via payroll deduction simply download, complete and return the payroll deduction authorization form to the University of Illinois Foundation via fax to 217-333-5577 or mail it to:
